  • Description

Melbourne women had a rare opportunity of seeing creations from the top fashion houses of London, New York, Paris and Rome during the City's recent International Wool Fashion Parade.

The show - illustrating the versatility of Australia wool - was put on daily for a fortnight. The clothes - totalling in value some thirty-five thousand pounds - were shown by models from France, Italy, Germany and Australia.

A form-fitting ski-suit designed in milan was modelled by Carol Dumont from France. Margo McKendry of Sydney wore an overdress with topcoat, styled by a German fashion house, and one of the fashions modelled by Italian model Marzia Becchio was a grey flannel suit designed in her native country. The ensemble was completed by a cartwheel hat of crushed straw.
