Background: The Israeli occupation of land captured during the 1967 Middle East war was the major topic at the opening session of the third Kuwaiti National Assembly. The ruler of Kuwait, Emir Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah, who addressed the Assembly, said that the current session was one of the most decisive in the nation's history. The Emir called for vigilance to face all eventualities and said that Kuwait would not fail in overcoming current difficulties and restore the occupied parts of the Arab World.
SYNOPSIS: The Ruler of Kuwait, Emir Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah, has made the opening address at the first session of the country's third National Assembly. He was welcomed by the Speaker of the Assembly and its members.
Present for the opening were members of the Ruling Family, ministers, deputies, senior Government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
During his opening address, the Emir said that the current session was one of the most decisive in the country's history. He called for vigilance to face current difficulties and to recover occupied parts of Arab lands.
In reply the Speaker of the House, continued the theme of retaking Israeli occupied land.
Another speaker was Crown Prince Shaikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al Jaber, who reviewed the Government's policy in both the Arab and international fields.
