Cenotaph in memory of their dead comrade during the Organization's struggle against the British.
A Te Deum was also celebrated and attended by Rhodes Bishop and
Mayor of the Island Mr.Petridis. In the Kremasti Church the attendance prayed for the souls of EOKA deads.

Background: The inhabitants of Rhodes reserved a warm farewell to 21 amnestised EOKA fighters returning back home following the Zurich and London Agreements. These men were compelled to remain in exile until the proclamation of the Cyprus Republic was materialized. Some of EOKA men got married in the Dodecanese and are now returning to Cyprus together with their families. They are flying back to Nicosia aboard a chartered by the Greek Government plane and are planning to participate in the festivities which will mark the Independence of Cyprus and the proclamation of the Cyprus Republic.
