  • Description

Ivory Coast welterweight hope Sea Robinson kept his unbeaten record on Friday night when he disposed of Frenchman Vincent Parra in a clear points win in Abidjan.

Parra went the distance but he was knocked down in the third and fourth rounds. He told newsmen afterwards that he wanted a return fight in marseilles, France, but Robinson, ranked twelfth in the world before the fight, may well have even tougher opposition in mind. In recent bouts he has beaten the Italian Riga and Josselin, the former French European champion and world title challenger.

Robinson has now won nineteen fights, more than three quarters of them inside the distance.

Parra often came forward but his attacks were too frequently wild. Robinson's punches were more telling and the Frenchman needed all his fitness to battle through six more rounds after being put down twice.

More than 20,000 fans packed into Abidjan Central Boxing Club to see the local boxer's victory.
