  • Description

The Vietnamese Airborne Brigade jump school at Camp Hoa No Hoa Than, is the only school of its kind in the Republic of Vietnam.

The school opened in 1956, and was run by Vietnamese Airborne personnel until 1961. At that time U.S. Advisors were sent to the school to advise and assist in training the Vietnamese Airborne trainees. Twenty Vietnamese con-commissioned officers instruct and train trainees per cycle. The course is three weeks long. All trainees are volunteers. After completing the training, the Airborne soldiers are usually assigned to the Vietnamese Airborne Brigade. A few are sent to Vietnamese Special Forces.
