Background: The Fourth General Assembly of the Federation of Afro-Asian Insurers (FAIR) opened in Kinshasa the Zaire capital on Wednesday (June 26).
The Zaire Finance Minister Baruti wa Nduali presented a message from the Zaire leader President Mobutu Sese Seko at the opening ceremony in which President Mubutu praised FAIR as an example of how the countries of Africa and Asia had fought against economic imprailism and under-development. The Zaire Insurance company had put an end to exploitation of that particular sector by foreigners, he said.
The President of the conference Mr. Farouk Sovon of Turkoy thanked to Zaire President and the Zaire people for the Zaire people for the welcome they had extended to delegates from many countries of the two continents.
The delegates will be studying many aspects of insurance including cargo losses and the future of life assurance in Africa aid Asia. They will also decide on the admission of new members.

Japan, Pakistan, Uganda, Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia and Iraq were just some of the nations that sent delegations to the two-day assembly.
Assembly President Mr. Farouk Seven from Turkey thanked the Zaire people for the welcome delegates had received. The conference will be looking at many aspects of insurance in Africa and Asia, including cargo losses, and the future o life assurance in the two continents.
