  • Description

Huge crowds of cheering Cubans gathered in Presidential Palace square, Havana, October 26, to hear Prime Minister Fidel Castro and his brother, Minister of the Armed forces Raul Castro, protest against recent leaflet raids on Cuba carried out by aircraft claimed to be based in Florida, U.S.A.

The crowds were also addressed by Labour Confederation secretary general Senior David Salvador, and other Cuban leaders. They repeated demands that the United States should prevent anti-Castro Cubans making flights from Florida to drop arms and leaflets to support anti-Government elements in Cuba.

As the rally was held, Government warplanes flew overhead and the slogan "Against Foreign Aggression" was written on thousands of badges worn by the demonstrators in Havana.
