    THE WORLD'S AEROSPACE INDUSTRY GOES ON SHOW ON FRIDAY (MAY 26TH) AT THE PARIS INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW -- NOW THE BIGGEST EVENT OF ITS KIND. MORE THAN 200 DIFFERENT TYPES OF AIRCRAFT WILL BE SEEN ON THE GROUND AND IN THE AIR OVER LE BOURGET AIRPORT DURING THE TEN DAYS OF THE SHOW.

    LOOKING AT FUTURE "FLYING SPACE," THE UNITED STATES AND THE SOVIET UNION ARE SHOWING MANY OF THEIR SATELLITES INCLUDING THOSE USED FOR LUNAR AND INTERPLANETARY PROBES.

    AN ARRIVAL IN PARIS THIS WEEK WAS THE UNITED STATES F-III "SWING-WING" SUPERSONIC FIGHTER-BOMBER -- THE FIRST TO BE SEEN IN EUROPE. BUT MORE WILL BE SEEN ON THIS SIDE OF THE ATLANTIC WHEN BRITAIN TAKES DELIVERY OF THE 50 F-III'S IT'S ORDERED.

    ALSO IN THE SUPERSONIC FIELD, A FULL-SCALE "WALK-THROUGH" MODEL OF THE ANGLO-FRENCH CONCORDE SUPERSONIC AIRLINER IS ON DISPLAY.

    YESTERDAY (TUESDAY), PAUL RACHEL, AN AMERICAN STUDENT LANDED AT LE BOURGET IN HIS MOONEY-MUSTANG SINGLE-ENGINE AIRCRAFT AFTER A SOLO FLIGHT FROM NEW YORK IN 15 HOURS 59 MINUTES -- FULFILLING HIS TARGET OF MAKING THE TRANSATLANTIC HOP IN UNDER HALF THE TIME IT TOOK CHARLES LINDBERGH IN THE SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS 40 YEARS AGO.
