Speaking before the U.N. Decolonisation Committee in New York on Monday (23 April), Mr. S.V. Mtambanengwe, secretary for political affairs of the Zimbabwe African National union (ZANU), said that ZANU was determined to fight so as to liberate Zimbabwe from the Smith regime. Another Zimbabwean speaker, Mr. Silundika, said the only way in which the Rhodesian situation could be resolved was through armed revolution on the part of Zimbabweans.
