Taiwan's Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Envoy to Africa, Mr H.K. Yang, was received by President Maga last week (8 September) at the neighed of his four-day visit to Dahomey.
Mr Yang delivered a personal message from Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek to President Maga, and both men discussed general relations between Dahomey and Taiwan.
SYNOPSIS: In Cotonou last week, Dahomey's President Maga received the Taiwan Deputy Foreign Minister Mr Yang. Mr Yang, who is also Taiwan's Special Envoy to Africa, had arrived in Dahomey four days earlier form the Ivory Coast, where he had delivered a personal message to Ivory Coast President Felix Houphouet-Boigny from Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek. Mr Yang and his Taiwan delegation discussed general relations between the two countries with President Maga.
President Maga referred to his 1962 visit to Taiwan and the two men talked of the recent changes thee. Mr Yang also thanked Dahomey's President for his help to Taiwan over the years.
