  • Description

In Liberia Sam Nujoma, the President of the South-West African People's organisation (SWAPO), has lashed out against what he called the "fascist" regime of South Africa. Mr Mujoma made his attack at the sixteenth Organisation of African Unity (OAU) summit, where he gave a press conference on Thursday (19 July). SWAPO, recognised by the United Nations as the only legal representative of the Namibian people, boycotted recent elections in South-West Africa for a National Legislative Assembly and still claims that the country is under total South African rule. Mr Nujoma spoke to journalists about the persecution of his people.
