  • Description

HEAVY RAINS DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS HAVE CAUSED THE WORST FLOODS SINCE 1947 AROUND THE BELGIAN TOWN OF LIEGE. ROADS WERE BLOCKED FOR MILES WHEN THE LA VESDRE RIVER DAM OVERFLOWED ITS BANKS.

THE WEIGHT OF THE RUSHING FLOODWATERS CAUSED THE COMPLETE COLLAPSE OF A SUPERMARKET IN THE TOWN OF CHENEE.

HOUSES NEAR THE LA VESDRE DAM WERE FLOODED AND IT WAS A QUESTION OF BAILING OUT AND MOPPING UP FOR THOSE UNLUCKY ONES NEAR THE RIVER BANKS.
