    Background: Soviet Prime Minister Nikita Khrushchev in New York September 1960 for the 15th United Nations General Assembly gave one of his now well-known Pavement chats to newsmen there.

    But it was not until a Russian-speaking girl began to exchange pleasantries with him that he came to the newsmen's microphones. Our cameraman climbed a tall ladder to get these impromptu shots of the discussion between the young girl, and Mr. K. almost lost in the cohort of security agents and journalists.
