    FOR OPEL, THE GERMAN SUBSIDIARY OF GENERAL MOTORS OF AMERICA, THE "DIPLOMAT" IS THE FIRST NEW "BIG" MODEL SINCE 1959. THIS 4.6-LITRE-ENGINED CAR IS AS LUXURIOUS AS THE CADILLAC. THE BASIC BODY DESIGN IS SHARPLINED WITH LARGE AREAS OF SMOOTH SURFACES AND AN ORNAMENTAL EDGE ALONG THE SIDE.
