  • Description

The wife of one of Pakistan's opposition leaders has warned that women in that country intend to continue their anti-government protest. She's Begum Asghar Khan, the wife of Air Vice Marshal Asghar Khan, who's one of the most vocal opponents of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. She was to have led a demonstration in Rawalpindi on Saturday (30 April), but only 300 people turned up and the poor turnout was blamed on the tight security around the city. The Begum talked of earlier rallies when both women and men defied a ban on public gatherings during an interview in Rawalpindi on Friday (29 April).
