  • Description

About 15,000 people expelled from former German territories, ceded to Poland and the Soviet Union after World War Two, held a mass rally in Bonn on Sunday (May 7) to protest at the forthcoming ratification of non-aggression treaties with the two communist nations. Anti-treaty protesters claim ratification would perpetuate for all time the divisions of post-war Germany.

Among the demonstrators were members of the right-wing National Democratic Party of Germany (the NPD), which is also opposed to ratification of the treaties and recently joined other opposition to bring about the current crisis of Government.
