Background: World Twin Cities Day was marked in Brazzaville on April 27th by a number of colourful ceremonies. The city of Brazzaville is linked to the French city of Reims.
Congo, Brazzaville is particularly proud of its links with the French cathedral city of Reims. The French Ambassador was among those diplomats who were invited to take part in the ceremony at the Brazzaville town-hall, where the Congo, Brazzaville government was represented by Dr Pascal Lissouba, Minister of State and former Prime Minister. He and the city's mayor, Mr. Mayordome, made speeches during the ceremony inside the town-hall. After the indoor ceremony which was attended by a number of officials and local personalities, there were more colourful, popular celebrations in the square outside the town-hall.
