Background: This platinum, gold, and silver does not belong to any bank. It is merely raw material for a Moscow factory producing special alloys.
Alloys of valuable metals are used extensively in the electronics industry, where the raw material must be exceptionally pure. There are only 12 grams of admixtures in every ton of valuable metal and the factory uses. Such purity makes the parts manufactured the more reliable.
The ordinary loud speaker must be welded with silver wire.
The silver and alloyed wires are wound no on 12 spools, as at most factories abroad, but on 20. This has multiplied wire production six times.
World famous gold tinsel is made here too.
This sheet is only 15/100ths of a micron thick.
The Soviet Union is the only country where the manufacture of gold tinsel has been mechanized.
Many of the historical monuments in the Kremlin have been restored with tinsel made at this factory. The Bell Tower of Ivan the Great is one of them.
The factory exports gold tinsel to Britain.
