Background: Brown's Swiss Bride
Saturday night after the publication of the pictures of the murder Brown, a desperate woman came to the police, saying that she meant recognizing her fiance' in the pictures. Her worries were right. She had met Brown last August in a Cafe' in Zurich. During the time he lived in Zurich, he had lived with her. The last time Mrs. Gertrud Sommer had seen Brown was Thursday morning. He left nothing but some cloths and shoes at her place. The woman had been engaged to Brown and the marriage announcement had already been published (see coverage) The woman who had come to the police office by herself had no knowledge of Brown's life. She didn't have anything to do with the robbery either. Letters Brown, i.e. Bird as he had gotten engaged France, Germany, Canada and the USA. Bird used to travel by plane. His passport has several visas and he confessed to possess further false passports. Until now their police couldn't get anything further out of him.
