SYNOPSIS: At the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, the Foreign Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, Mohammed Saleh Mottie spoke about the Middle East War.

Speaking at the Assembly's general debate, Mr. Mottie said he was not reading his original statement in view of what he called "the latest Israeli military aggression on both Egypt and Syria."
He strongly condemned bombardments of civilian targets by the Israeli air force in Syria. These, he said, were contrary to the principles of international law in armed conflict.

And the South Yemen Foreign Minister included in his condemnation the United States, which, he claimed, was supplying Israel with long-range bombers. Mr. Mottie charged that this alleged United States involvement in the Middle East hostilities was further proof of its sustenance and encouragement of Israeli occupation of Arab lands.

Mr. Mottie also attacked the United Council. He said the representative of the United States had asked Egypt and Syria to withdraw from their own territories in order to allow Israel to perpetuate its occupation. Mr. Mottie said in conclusion that his Government fully supported the struggle of Egypt and Syria to liberate their territories.
