Britain's Parliamentary Under-Secretary for African Affairs, Miss. Joan Lestor, left Lusaka, Zambian, on Thursday (30 May) after a three-day visit during which she met Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda.
Miss. Lestor and President Kaunda talked about Rhodesia and the consequences for Africa of the latest developments in Portugal.
They discussed the possibility of United Nations' sanctions against Rhodesia being tightened by Mozambique denying Rhodesia its railway and pipeline link with the sea. The also debated the possibility of a telecommunications and postal boycott of Rhodesia.
During her visit, Miss. Lestor was guest of honour at a reception given by the Zambian Government and attended by representatives of guerrilla movements in Southern Africa.
Miss. Lessor came to Zambia from Kenya where she discussed Kehya's boycott of British sports teams because of the British ???ons rugby tour to South Africa.
Zambian Foreign Minister Vernon Nwaanga saw Miss. Lestor off at Luscal??? airport.
