    Labour Ministers from member states of the Organisation of African Unity gathered in Libreville last week for the 13th conference of African Labour Ministers.
    Among those attending the opening session was the President of the Gabonese Republic, Albert-Bernard Bongo.
    Delegates to the conference elected the Gabonese Labour Minister, M. Jermoe Okinda, as its new President.
    The Secretary-General of the O.A.U., M. William Eteki Mboumova, gave delegates a history of the organisation and underlined its aims for the future.
    Among the topics discussed by delegates was one to investigate the possibility of organising a system of compulsory union contributions organised on a national basis, with contributions deducted directly from salaries.
