    In the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos has suggested that his country should send only a token contingent to the Munich Olympics in order to save money for flood relief.

    But when the National Olympic Committee met in Manila on Tuesday (August 8) it decided to send a full team of 43 athletes representing a total of nine sports. Members also reversed decision not to send a basketball team to Munich. Their one concession was to drop two officials from their original Olympic contingent.
