    BETWEEN 400 AND 500 MEMBERS OF THE UNIVERSITIES COMMITTEE FOR SOVIET JEWRY MARCHED TO THE SOVIET EMBASSY IN LONDON TODAY (SUNDAY) AND HANDED IN A MEMORANDUM FOR THE RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER, MR ALEXEI KOSYGIN, EXPRESSING THE DEEP CONCERN OF BRITISH STUDENTS ON THE QUESTION OF THE JEWISH MINORITY IN THE U.S.S.R. THE MEMORANDUM WAS RECEIVED BY A THIRD SECRETARY, WHO SAID IT WOULD BE PASSED ON TO MR KOSYGIN.

    THE STUDENTS, ABOUT TWO HUNDRED OF THEM NON-JEWISH, MARCHED IN SLOW TIME TO THE EMBASSY, AND IT TOOK THEM TWO HOURS TO TRAVEL UNDER THREE MILES (FIVE KM). THE STUDENTS SAID IN THEIR MEMORANDUM THAT THEIR COMMENTS WERE OFFERED ONLY AS FRIENDS AND ADMIRERS OF THE SOVIET UNION. THEY SAID THAT THEY FELD THE FULL RELIGIOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN THE U.S.S.R. WERE NOT SATISFIED. ONE OF THE MARCHERS TOLD REPORTERS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY GOT TO THE EMBASSY.
