    AT A PRESS CONFERENCE IN GENEVA TODAY, THE LEADER OF THE UNITED NATIONS MISSION TO ADEN, DR. MANUEL PEREZ-GUERRERO OF VENEZUELA, SAID THAT HE AND HIS TWO COLLEAGUES ON THE MISSION WERE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING AN INVITATION FROM THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT TO VISIT LONDON FOR TALKS.

    THE INVITATION WAS SENT TO THE THREE-MAN MISSION BY BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY GEORGE BROWN AFTER THE MISSION HAD CUT SHORT ITS STAY IN ADEN AND LEFT THERE FOR GENEVA ON FRIDAY.

    EARLIER TODAY, DR. PEREZ-GUERRERO AND THE TWO OTHER MEMBERS OF THE U.N. MISSION - M. MOUSSA LEO KEITA OF MALI AND MR. ABDUL SATTAR SHALIZI OF AFGHANISTAN - HAD MET UNITED NATIONS OFFICIALS IN GENEVA.

    THE MISSION HAD BEEN IN GENEVA SINCE LEAVING ADEN. THEY HAD BEEN EXPECTED TO STAY IN ADEN THREE WEEKS TO STUDY THE SITUATION THERE, BUT LEFT ON FRIDAY AFTER ONLY FIVE DAYS.

    TONIGHT IN LONDON, BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY GEORGE BROWN SAID HE THOUGHT THE MISSION MIGHT STILL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY IN THE ADEN AFFAIR.

    IT WAS IN REPLY TO MR. BROWN'S INVITATION THAT DR. PEREZ-GUERRERO SPOKE TODAY.....
