    AT LOD AIRPORT, TEL AVIV, BEREAVED FAMILIES WERE INFORMED OF THE SWISS JETLINER CRASH IN SWITZERLAND IN WHICH ALL 47 PASSENGERS AND CREW WERE KILLED.

    NEWS OF THE CRASH, RELATED TO WAITING RELATIVES AND FRIENDS BY THE SWISSAIR AIRPORT MANAGER, WAS GREETED WITH A MIXTURE OF SHOCK AND DISMAY. PEOPLE CROWDED AROUND THE SWISSAIR TICKET COUNTER AS THE NAMES OF ALL THOSE ON BOARD THE DOWNED PLANE WERE ANNOUNCED.

    THE PASSENGER LIST INCLUDED NATIONALS FROM ISRAEL, WEST GERMANY, THE UNITED STATES, BELGIUM, ENGLAND, CANADA, SENEGAL, THAILAND, AND SWITZERLAND, WHILE THE CREW WERE ALL FROM SWITZERLAND. THE SWISS PASSENGER WAS IDENTIFIED AS MR. HANS KUHN, ONE OF THE PIONEERS OF SWISS AVIATION.

    (INVESTIGATORS AT WUERENLINGEN, SWITZERLAND, WHERE THE TEL-AVIV BOUND CORONADO AIRCRAFT CRASHED ON SATURDAY (FEBRUARY 21), SAID THEY HAD FOUND SCORCH MARKS ON A NET HOLDING CARGO AT THE REAR OF THE PLANE. INVESTIGATORS SAID THE AIRCRAFT'S PILOT REPORTED A FIRE ON BOARD SHORTLY AFTER RADIOING THERE HAD BEEN AN EXPLOSION IN THE REAR OF THE PLANE WHILE OVER CENTRAL SWITZERLAND.)
    NO FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS HAVE YET BEEN MADE FRO CRASH VICTIMS AND INVESTIGATORS SAID PARTS OF BODIES GATHERED SO FAR WILL HAVE TO BE EXAMINED BY SCIENTISTS IN AN ATTEMPT TO DISCOVER WHETHER THEY SUFFERED ANY INJURIES BEFORE THE CRASH.

    MEANWHILE, AMID MOUNTING ANGER IN ISRAEL OVER THE CRASH, THERE WERE CALLS FROM NEWSPAPERS AND THE SMALL RIGHT-WING CENTRE PARTY FOR RETALIATORY MILITARY ACTION AGAINST THE ARABS, WHO ISRAEL SAYS WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CRASH.
