    MANY OF THE FASTEST MOTOR MACHINES IN THE WORLD WERE ASSEMBLED AT WESTMINSTER, LONDON, DECEMBER 30TH FOR THE THIRD ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL RACING CAR SHOW.

    PRIDE OF PLACE IN THE SHOW WENT TO A 3-LITRE TESTA ROSSA FERRARI, REPRESENTING THE POWERFUL TWELVE CYLINDER MACHINES WHICH AGAIN WON THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR ITALY IN 1961. IT HAS A TIP SPEED AROUND THE 160 MILES AN HOUR MARK.

    THE SHOW IS SPONSORED BY THE BRITISH RACING AND SPORTS CAR CLUB TO ENABLE ENTHUSIASTS TO HAVE A PIT STYLE VIEW OF THE WORLD'S TOP COMPETITIVE CARS. BRITISH EXHIBITS INCLUDED TWO NEW LOTUS MODELS SUCH AS THE LOTUS 23, A POSSIBLE LE MANS ENTRANT IN 1962..
    A CONTRAST TO THE SLEEK RACING MACHINES WAS THE VOLKSWAGEN SALOON USED IN COMPETITION BY ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB BRITISH RALLY CHAMPION, BILL BENGRY.

    ONE-HUNDRED-THOUSAND PEOPLE WERE EXPECTED TO VIEW THE EXHIBITION DURING ITS SEVEN DAYS AT THE ROYAL HORTICULTURAL HALLS. THEY INCLUDED AUSTRALIAN PAUL HAWKINS AND IAN WALKER WHO PLAN TO DRIVE A MARCOS IN THE NEXT LE MANS GRAND PRIX.

    AMONG THE MACHINES ON EXHIBIT FOR THE FIRST TIME WAS THE DEEP SANDERSON, A NEW BRITISH "ASSEMBLE-IT-YOURSELF" SPORTS CAR. REAR ENGINED AND WITH A TOP SPEED OF 107 MPH, THE CAR CAN BE CONSTRUCTED FROM THE MAKER'S KIT IN A MATTER OF HOURS.

    FORMER WORLD MOTOR RACING CHAMPION JACK BRABHAM EXHIBITED HIS CONVERSION KITS FOR SPORTS CARS, BUT DID NOT ATTEND THE SHOW PERSONALLY AS HE IS ON AN OVERSEAS TRIP.

    CUTAWAY MODELS OF RACING ENGINES AND THE LATEST IN SAFETY BELTS WERE AMONG THE EXHIBITS.
