President Moktar Ould Daddah of Mauritania arrived in Cairo, Egypt, last week at the start of a two-week tour of Arab countries. During his twenty-four hour stay in Cairo he had talks with the Egyptian head of states, President Anwar Sadat on Saturday (20 April).
The meeting took place at the Hilton in Cairo, and the two leaders were reported to have discussed the developments in the Middle East situation, and ways in which relations between Egypt and Mauritania could be consolidated.
President Ould Daddah left Egypt on Sunday to continue his round of official visits. His tour, during which he is being accompanied by the Mauritanian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Rural Development and Education, will take the President to Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq.
