    THE BOMB WAS ONE OF THE MAIN ISSUES AT THE CURRENT MEETING OF THE INDIAN CONGRESS PARTY BEING HELD IN DURGAPORE IN WEST BENGAL. NOT ONE SPEAKER HAS BEEN IN FAVOUR OF THE BOMB AND THE MEETING HAS UNANIMOUSLY DEPLORED THE LATEST NUCLEAR EXPLOSION BY CHINA.

    THE PARTY IN ENDORSING THE GOVERNMENT'S POLICY OF NON-ALIGNMENT AND PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE, HAS ASKED THE UNITED NATION AND THE MAJOR NUCLEAR POWERS TO GIVE SERIOUS ATTENTION TO FORESTALL THE DANGER OF THE DEVASTATION OF MANKIND BY THE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

    MR. KAMARAJ TOLD THE DELEGATES THAT THE PRESENT FOOD CRISIS WAS BEING EFFECTIVELY TACKLED AND NO ONE IN INDIA STAVED FOR FOOD.
