Background: In Amman, King Hussein handed out diplomas at the seventh graduation ceremony of Jordan University on Wednesday (5 July).
In all, 505 graduates received diplomas in various fields of study,including literature, science, trade, economics, business administration and Islamic studies. Prizes were presented to the top student in each area of study.
Government and military officials were also at the graduation.
SYNOPSIS: Jordan University held a graduation ceremony at the Palace of Culture in Amman last Thursday. Guest of honour was King Hussein.
Inside the palace, 505 graduates assembled to hear the King deliver speech.
After the address, the graduates mounted a stage to receive their diplomas from King Hussein. The students represented various fields of study, including literature, science, trade and economics, and Islamic studies.
Besides King Hussein, various government and military officials were present. The top student in each field of study received a special prize.
Jordan University was founded in 1962 and this was its seventh graduation ceremony.
