    The electoral commissions of both Nigeria and Ghana have met in Lagos to further the aims of the two countries to exchange ideas relating to their political, social and economic development. The Chairman of the Nigerian Federal Electoral Commission Chief Michael Ani said the two countries wish to help each other towards a smooth transfer of power from military to civil control. The Chairman of the Ghana Electoral Commission Mr. Justice Kingsley Iyenah told the meeting that the elections in his country in June this year (1979) are expected to elect both a house of Parliament and a President. Since Ghana lifted its ban on political parties last year a number of parties have sought registration for the elections.
