    A DEPUTATION LATER WENT TO THE PRIME MINISTER'S RESIDENCE AT NUMBER 10, DOWNING STREET AND HANDED IN A PETITION CALLING ON THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT TO DISSOCIATE ITSELF FROM THE POLICY AND ACTIONS OF THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AND TO END ALL ASSISTANCE TO WHAT THE PETITIONER CALLED THE "UNREPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT" IN SAIGON.THE PETITION DESCRIBED THE UNITED STATES ACTION IN VIETNAM AS AN "AFFRONT TO THE CONSCIENCE OF THE WORLD."
    AMONG THE SPEAKERS WAS LORD BROCKWAY - A PROMINENT BRITISH LABOUR PEER.LORD BROCKWAY HAS BEEN CHAIRMAN OF THE MOVEMENT FOR COLONIAL FREEDOM SINCE 1954.ANOTHER SPEAKER WAS THE LABOUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT, MRS.RENEE SHORT.

    THE CROWD WAS ESTIMATED AT ABOUT TWO THOUSAND AND MANY OF THEM CARRIED BANNERS CALLING FOR AN END TO THE UNITED STATES BOMBING RAIDS, AND FOR THE HONOURING OF THE 1954 GENEVA AGREEMENT.
