Background: Relative clam returned to riot-torn Reggio Calabria on Friday (19 February) for the first time after four days of violence over the naming of another city as regional capital. Police used bulldozers to clear barricades from one rebellious district of the city, but decided to leave militant demonstrators in temporary control of another working-class area.

VISNEWS cameraman Enzo di Giambattista has been in Reggio for the past days and has been on hand to film the events which followed Tuesday's (16 February) decision to name neighbouring Catanzaro capital of the Calabria region in Italy's "toe".
