Background: Fifty members of a new organisation -- 'Black Brotherhood International', have made a pilgrimage to Dodi Island, in the Volta Lake, Ghana, to offer invocations to the spirit of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. They travelled to the island from the port of Akosombo on the launch 'Akosombo Queen', and, at a spot where Dr. Nkrumah used to picnic with members of his cabinet, offered libations to the gods of the Volta Lake and invoked Dr. Knrumah's spirit to help them achieve their aims. 'Black Brotherhood International -- which will be known simply in future as 'The Black Brothers' - is open to all people of African descant. It hopes to form chapters in various countries and, to quote its constitution, 'to lay the foundation for an eventual home-coming for all persons of African descent to Mother Africa'. Their slogan is 'Black Familyhood is Unity and Solidarity'.

SYNOPSIS: At the Volta Lake, in Ghana, fifty founding members of a new organisation 'Black Brothers International' have made a pilgrimage to the Island of Dodi. They left from Akosombo Port.

They were travelling to Dodi Island to seek help from the spirit of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in realising their aims. The fifty Brothers, who travelled the Lake on the launch 'Akosombo Queen' were from the Brotherhood's International Headquarters in Accra: They hope son to make contact with the organisation for African Unity. (O.A.U.)
The Island of Dobi was a favourite picnic spot of Dr. Nkrumah and his cabinet members. Led by their President, Mr. Togbor Mensah, the Brothers hope to set up overseas chapters and branches 'to lay the foundation for an eventual homecoming for all people of African descent to Mother Africa'. In future their organisation will be called simply 'The Black Brothers'.

At Dr. Nkrumah's favourite spot, the group poured a libation to the gods of the Volta Lake and invoked the help of the spirit of Dr. Nkrumah. Brother Evans Hunter carried out the ceremony. It ended with the Brothers giving the clenched-fish Black Power salute.

Then the Brothers moved on to a nearby fishing village. They've decided to build a resort on Dodi Island for the benefit of members who might like to visit it in future.
