A Russian - built airliner of the State - owned Czechoslovak Airline crashed in a field killing all 52 people on board after an explosion in mid-air over Bavaria, West Germany. Police probed the shouldering wreckage at dawn, March 29, to recover bodies. The plane, an Ilyushin, on a night flight, from Prague to Bomako, capital of the African Republic of Mali, hit the ground at the village of Oberrusselabach, 30 miles from Nuremburg.
