    PRESIDENT KEITA AND HIS ENTOURAGE OF 30 FLEW IN FROM THE ORGANISATION OF AFRICAN UNITY (OAU) SUMMIT CONFERENCE IN ADDIS ABABA.

    HALF AN HOUR EARLIER THEIR HOST, PRESIDENT NYERERE, RETURNED TO TANZANIA, ALSO FROM THE OUA CONFERENCE.

    CHANTING SCHOOLCHILDREN AND GROUPS OF DANCERS GAVE PRESIDENT KEITA A ROUSING WELCOME. WITH PRESIDENT NYERERE, THE MALI LEADER REVIEWED THE GUARD OF HONOUR AND A MARCH PAST.

    PRESIDENT KEITA IS TANZANIA'S FIRST STATE GUEST FROM A FRENCH-SPEAKING AFRICAN STATE IN MORE THAN THREE YEARS.

    HUGE CROWDS, WAVING MALI TRICOLOUR, CHEERED THE TWO PRESIDENTS AS THEY DROVE IN A MOTORCADE THROUGH DAR ES SALAAM. THEY WENT TO THE STATE HOUSE FOR TALKS DURING WHICH THEY ARE EXPECTED TO DISCUSS CONTINENTAL UNITY, WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON LIBERATION STRUGGLES IN SOUTHERN AFRICA.

    PRESIDENT KEITA IS EXPECTED TO MAKE FOUR PUBLIC SPEECHES DURING HIS STAY.
