    TEN-THOUSAND ITEMS ARE ON DISPLAY - RANGING FROM JEWELLERY TO A BUS NAMED THE "YELLOW RIVER" AND A CAR CALLED "RED FLAG".

    AGRICULTURAL AND MINERAL PRODUCTS, HANDICRAFTS, LIQUOR AND FOODSTUFFS, TEXTILES, AND HEAVY AND LIGHT INDUSTRIAL GOODS MAKE UP THE FAIR.

    A STRONG FORCE OF UNIFORMED AND PLAINCLOTHED POLICE WERE ON DUTY. IN 1959, A CHINESE FLAG WAS PULLED DOWN AT AN EXHIBITION OF CHINESE GOODS IN A NAGASAKI STORE, AND CHINA SUSPENDED TRADE WITH JAPAN. BUT LAST MONTH WITH THE EASING OF TRADE RELATIONS, A FAIR SIMILAR TO THE ON IN NAGOYA WAS HELD IN KITAKYUSHU.
