A high level Ethiopian delegation led by Lieutenant Colonel Endale Tessema returned to Addis Ababa on Monday (2 July) after a visit to the Soviet Union. colonel Endale and the delegation had been in Moscow after taking part in the thirty-third session and thirtieth anniversary celebrations of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA).
SYNOPSIS: Colonel Endale and members of the delegation were greeted at Bole International Airport by members of the government. Colonel Endale is the vice-Chairman of the National Revolutionary Development Campaign and Central Planning Supreme Council.
The ministers who attended the conference in Moscow are experts in the fields of African and Middle Eastern affairs, and development projects. They met and exchanged ideas in Moscow with their counterparts from other developing countries.

Colones Endale said the high-level Ethiopian delegations had a very successful week-long working visit in the Soviet Union. He said after extensive talks with soviet officials on a wide-range of issues they had come to a better understanding than would have been possible through other channels. The session of the CMEA was chaired by Soviet Prime Minister, Alexei Kosygin. It was the thirtieth anniversary of the Council, which co-ordinates economic assistance between member states. Colonel Endale said the Secretary of the Council assured him of his support for the Ethiopian revolution.
