Translation of the speeches in French of the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister and the Tunisian Foreign Minister:
SYNOPSIS - At the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday condemnation of Israel's bombing of Damascus and a call for the return of occupied Arab territory.

The Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Ismail condemned the Israelis for further raids on what he said were civilian targets deep into Syrian territory. Hundreds of civilians had been killed in the barbarous air raids he told members. Israeli attacks contravened the Geneva Convention concerning civilian protection in wartime.

The Israelis were ignoring the call made by the International Red Cross after the bombing of Damascus. The International Committee of the Red Cross has asked both sides in the Middle East war to respect fully the Geneva Convention.

The warning followed Tuesday's raid on Damascus which caused heavy casualties. The Soviet Cultural Centre, a teacher's college and an apartment complex bore the brunt of the attack.

Earlier members of the Non-Aligned nations had met to discuss the situation
The Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Masmoudi presented their communique to the Assembly.

The Non-Aligned nations demanded the withdrawal of Israel from all occupied Arab territories as a pre-condition to any talks on a solution to the Middle East crisis. Together they condemned the indiscriminate bombing of the Syrian civilian population - bombing which had caused the deaths of hundreds of innocent men, women and children, including foreign diplomats and their wives.

Non-Aligned nations expressed "total support" for Egypt and Syria in what they called their just struggle and heroic efforts to liberate their occupied territory. Mr. Masmoudi said the Non-Aligned nations particularly denounced the barbarous acts against civilians which brought to an already tragic conflict a dimension of inhumanity which the international community could not tolerate."
