President Kekkonen today returned home to Finland after a week's stay in Russia. He went there at the express invitation of Soviet leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest.
While there he was greeted with lavish hospitality from Mr Kruschev and other highly placed members of the Soviet hierarchy.
Economic matters were on the agendas for discussion, and it is understood that Finland's President came away with a Russian loan running into the equivalent of tens of millions of pounds.
President Kekkon's wife; Sylvi Kekkonen was at Helsinki airport to welcome her husband back home, together with the full Cabinet. Members of foreign legations and embassies were also on hand to offer a welcome and congratulations on what was, on the surface at any rate, a satisfactory visit to the USSR.
