Background: In Paris on Sunday (28 June) American actor Gregory Peck presented world-famous concert pianist Arthur Rubenstein with an "Oscar" for his part in a biographical film of his own life and work.
The film, entitled "Rubenstein...The Love of Life", was named the Best Documentary at the Oscar Ceremonies in Hollywood earlier this year, but the presentation of the Oscar was made by Gregory Peck on Friday in a ceremony outside Arthur Rubenstein's Paris home. It was watched by both men's wives and a gathering of friends.
Mr. Rubenstein, who is now 81 and has received honorary doctorates and cultural awards from many countries, said after the presentation that he felt the Oscar belonged not so much to him as to the film's maker .....French Director, Francois Reichenbach.
