    OBSERVERS BELIEVE THE MEETING ATTENDED ALSO BY INDONESIA'S FOREIGN MINISTER, DOCTOR SUBANDRIO, AND THE AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADOR TO INDONESIA, MR.K.C.SHANN, INVOLVED HARD AND SERIOUS DISCUSSION.

    AS THE TWO FOREIGN MINISTERS WALKED TOGETHER TOWARDS THE PALACE STEPS, SIR GARFIELD BARWICK SUDDENLY TURNED TO INDONESIAN AND FOREIGN REPORTERS CROWDING BEHIND HIM AND SAID:
    "PRESIDENT SUKARNO AND I HAD A VERY FULL, DIRECT AND FRANK EXCHANGE OF VIEWS IN RESPECT TO A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS, INCLUDING OUR RESPECTIVE ATTITUDES TOWARDS MALAYSIA AND ITS FORMATION."
    HE ADDED: "I MADE PLAIN AUSTRALIA'S ATTITUDE, PARTICULARLY TOWARDS MALAYSIA.THE PRESIDENT MADE PLAIN INDONESIA'S THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ON MALAYSIA.
