    AT THE AIRPORT

    An excited crowd including 3 Bishops, 50 Clergy, Mr. P.H. Johnston the Provincial Commissioner; Mr. Job Lusindo Chairman of the Dodoma Town Council; Members of the Legislative Council and others waved vigorously to welcome the Archbishop to welcome the Archbishop and Mrs. Fisher as they arrive by plane at Dodoma Airport from the Southern Highlands Province.

    The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Dodoma, was literally packed to capacity as hundreds of the parishioners had to follow the service outside the church with the help of loudspeakers.

    During the service, the warm sun shown through the cool atmosphere, one of the parishioners during meditation fell into a short slumber and was only awakened by a thunderous roar of "Amen".

    The service over Dr. Fisher and Mrs. Fisher stand outside the Cathedral to receive gifts from the African flock of the Diocese of Central Tanganyika.

    Bishop Stanway takes a photograph of Dr. and Mrs. Fisher while a short speech is being read out by Padre Daniel Lungwa on the spiritual and physical meaning of the gifts. A shield and knobkerrie for the Archbishop, a small tea table and a wooden envelope opener for Mrs. Fisher.



    The Archbishop gives a short speech and jokingly waves the shield and knobkerrie to the congregation.

    INAUGURATION CEREMONY

    The Provost of St. Alban's Collegiate Church, the Very Rev. Archdeacon Edmund Capper, meets His Excellency the Governor of Tanganyika, Sir Richard Turnbull, and his party at the entrance of the Church before the ceremony.

    The first procession starts from the Provost's house which included Acolytes, Ministers of other Christian Churches, the Clergy, the Headmaster of St. Andrew's College Minaki and the Provost leading the procession.
