  • Description

Top Parisian designer Pierre Balmain has designed the outfits to be worn by some 450 hostesses during the winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, next year. Today (Monday), saw a preview of the designs in Paris.

Balmain has assembled his designs under the generic title of "Olympic Line". The hostesses' uniforms, in an aqua colour, have been tailored in gabardine. They have gabardine cloaks to match.

He has also designed clothes for cocktail wear and for use on the slopes around Grenoble. Synthetic fabrics have been widely used.

The new outfits will go through their practical test in February next year, when thousands of competitors will gather in the ski town at the foot of the Savoy Alps for the Winter Sports section of the 1968 Olympic Games.
