    IN AN HISTORIC CEREMONY ON MONDAY (29 JULY), NAIROBI, THE CAPITAL OF KENYA, AND ETHIOPIA'S CAPITAL, ADDIS ABABA, BECAME TWIN CITIES. GOVERNMENT AND CIVIC LEADERS FROM BOTH COUNTRIES ATTENDED THE CEREMONY, HELD IN NAIROBI.

    THE TWIN-CITY RELATIONSHIP HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED AFTER RESOLUTIONS WERE ADOPTED BY THE COUNCILS IN BOTH CITIES.

    THE DELEGATES FROM THE ADDIS ABABA COUNCIL WERE LED BY THE CITY'S LORD MAYOR, MR. KANTIBA ZAUDE GABRE HEYWOT. HEADING NAIROBI'S DELEGATION WAS THE MAYOR, COUNCILLOR ISAAC LUGONZO.

    MR. LUGONZO SAID IT WAS HOPED OTHER AFRICAN CITIES WOULD FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE AS A MEANS OF BECOMING MORE AWARE OF OTHER CITIES.
