Background: Egyptian Prime Minister Abdel Aziz Hegazi arrived in Kuwait on Saturday (30 November) on a state visit for talks with officials of the Gulf state on Kuwaiti investments in his country.

Dr. Hegazi said he hoped to sign a number of economic agreements. He said the visit, at the invitation of the Amir (Ruler) of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Salim Al Sabah, was a continuation of previous "positive" contacts.

Dr. Hegazi was received by the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and many senior ministers.

This was the Egyptian Premier's second visit to the Gulf area in a month. Earlier in November, he spent eight days touring Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Bahrain. During the tour, he signed economic and technical agreements.
