    In the national waterskiing championships held at Moscow's Krylatskoye Olympic Centre on September 1 and 2, both the men's and women's titles were retained by last year's champions.Top prizes went to the two competitors who achieved the highest overall placings in three disciplines: slalom, trick skiing and jumping.Alexander Minenok kept the men's title for the fourth consecutive year.On the way he set a new national record of 9280 points in the tricking skiing in which points are awarded for the number and quality of difficult moves which a skier can execute within a measured distance.Natalia Roumyansteva came to the championship as holder of the woman's trick skiing world record and one of the world's best slalomists.Unhappily, she fell while trying to negotiate a path around the marker buoys in the slalom event.Roumyansteva showed a new programme of trick skiing but could only mange second place in that event.However, she won the ski jumping section and with it the overall title of national champion.
