    Black Panther leader Huey Newton was acclaimed by this followers on Wednesday (August 5), when released from jail on 50,000 dollars bail.

    While in jail he told an interviewer of his plans to expand the Black Panthers, commit troops to help the Notional Liberation Front in Vietnam, and bring up this offer of troops at the Paris Peace Talks.

    Twenty-eight year-old Newton was convicted of voluntary manslaughter of a policeman after being arrested in October 1967.

    He has served nearly two years of a two-to-fifteen year prison sentence. He spent close to a year in custody before the trial.

    He was set free following a California Supreme Court ruling the he must be tried again because of errors made by the Judge during his 1968 trial.

    He founded his Black Panther Party for Self Defence five years ago.

    His comments to his interviewer in jail were repeated the night he was released in a Press Conference in Oakland. He began with his plans for the Panther movement.
