    Mr. Joseph Kiwanuka, chairman of the Uganda National Congress was released on bail and allowed to his home by Buganda authorities after having been accused of taking part in a plot to kill the Kabaka, the Katriko, Prince Badru, The Minister of Health and Works (Mr. A. K. Sempa) and Mr. A.D. Lubowa, a representative member of the Buganda Lukiko.

    Mr. Kiwanuka was arrested on the night of January 13 at the house of Mr. Alamazani Kisitu at Bwayise, near Kampula. On the Tuesday (14th) appeared before the Chief Judge of the Buganda Principal Court and was remanded in custody.
