    ....Little ROck,Arkansas.

REPORTER: The Congressman stepped off the plane at Little Rock, yesterday, he says he doesn't know how the Washington incident will effect his re-election campaign. This is the first time in many years his election has been in any doubt.

Judy Patty, is a 31 year old Republican... says Mills has been in Congress for so 26 years and has become so powerful, that he represents special interests instead of the people. She has refused to comment on the Washington incident.....

....she has made an issue of Mills connection with Associated Milk Producers Corporation, which contributed illegal funds to Mills for Presidential campaign in 1972.

Mills said he did not know about the funds but Mrs. Petty says he had a Watergate of his own.

"The problem of 18 months of watergate, one good thing that came out of it is people now have a new standard of honesty and integrity for their elected officials and I think thats been a direct result of some of the activities we've seen in Washington, and I think it's very healthy."

REPORTER: Do you think it will help in your campaign?

    JUDY: Yes, I do.

Mills was in his home in small town of Kensett,..., herleft for Little Rock to make campaign speech there, tonight. Mills said again today he is embarrassed by the incident.

REPORTER: Police reports said you were intoxicated. Were you?

MILLS: I don't think so, I think I was a little high on champagne, I'm not used to drinking...

REPORTER: Reports also said a woman in question had a couple of black eyes, do you know how she got them?

    MILLS: I have no idea.

REPORTER: Do you think this will have any effect on you rcampaign?

MILLS: It will have some effect, I don't know how much, that's why I'm down here, trying to find out.

REPORTER: Despite adverse publicity Congressman Mills is still favourite to win this election. Win Senator Fillbright defeated and McCullen saying he will not run again when his turn expires the state will virtually, have no senority in Congress if Mills were Defeated.

That may carry more weight with the voters in this district......evenso in this period of political uncertainty, following Watergate nothing can be taken for granted.
